Job summary

SG Fleet AU seeks a technical authority for software engineering to set standards for design, testing, security, and delivery across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. You will drive engineering best practices, champion AI, lead the Software Engineering Practice Group, and influence core architectural decisions.

You will lead high-performing teams, mentor senior engineers, and uplift SDLC processes and automation while maintaining strong communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with deep hands-on C#/.NET experience.
• Experience with React or similar frontend tech in medium-large environments.
• Proven pattern adoption and complex problem solving.
• Leading via influence, coaching senior engineers and tech leads.
• Improving engineering practice across multiple teams.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows.
• SDLC design, delivery processes, and measurable impact on speed/quality.
• Practical Azure, CI/CD, and modern SDLC practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication to produce adoptable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams across regions.
• Develop and maintain the engineering competency framework.
• Mentor engineers through technical coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Set and improve coding, review, ALM, release, and quality standards.
• Drive DevOps automation and AI-driven delivery improvements.
• Advance use of approved AI across the SDLC and build reusable capabilities.
• Contribute to architecture, tech research, and design reviews.
• Enhance automated testing and secure coding practices.
• Govern security, dependencies, and risk; manage security incidents.
• Lead the Software Engineering Practice Group directing priorities and outputs.
