Job summary

SKA Observatory is seeking a senior HR professional to lead the local HR function for SKA-Low in Australia. The role operates in a matrix structure reporting to the Low Telescope Director with a dotted line to the UK HR Director.

You will work in a small HR team spanning SKAO and CSIRO, supporting a growing staff cohort. The role emphasizes strategic HR advisory, policy implementation, diversity and inclusion, and delivering HR plans aligned with SKAO governance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with SKA-Low Leadership Team, providing expert HR guidance.
• Develop and deliver an HR plan aligned with global strategy and policies.
• Collaborate with UK and Australia teams to unify HR operations.
• Embed inclusive practices across talent acquisition and leadership development.
• Drive engagement initiatives across CSIRO collaboration and global teams.
• Provide local policy expertise for SKA-Low in Australia, ensuring governance alignment.
• Oversee local privileges and immunities in Australia with key stakeholders.
• Build a high-performing SKA-Low culture aligned to SKAO values.
• Lead rewards and benefits for SKAO Low staff, including international staff.
• Oversee strategic workforce planning and timely recruitment and development.
