Job summary

Randstad NV is seeking an Environmental Advisor in Brisbane for a 1-year contract with potential extension. The role involves owning the environmental approvals pathway and acting as the regulatory link between engineering teams and authorities in Brisbane and on-site with frequent APAC travel.

You will build relationships with CEPA, collaborate with engineering and construction teams, and regularly travel to APAC for regulatory discussions and site reviews.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated track record securing and administering major project environmental approvals, statutory permits, and EMPs; strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory bodies (CEPA) or cross-border exposure.
• Willingness to travel internationally to APAC region on a regular basis.
• High-level stakeholder diplomacy with the ability to manage technical discussions with regulators and leadership.
• Experience in upstream/midstream oil & gas, energy infrastructure, or complex tie-in projects.

Responsibilities

• Owning the end-to-end statutory environmental approvals pathway, monitoring submission milestones, and tracking permit conditions to avoid compliance surprises.
• Building and maintaining relationships with environmental authorities, notably CEPA.
• Partnering with project engineering, construction, and execution teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical field deliverables.
• Travelling to APAC sites regularly to lead regulatory discussions, stakeholder meetings, and site walkthroughs.
