Qualifications

• 2 year apprenticeship or as trade assistant is required.
• High Risk Work and White Card are required.
• Driver's Licence may be needed.
• 18 years + eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and plans to determine glass quantity.
• Lay glass on tables and score with glasscutters.
• Cut, drill and notch holes in glass; remove excess glass.
• Remove broken glass and prepare surfaces for re-glazing.
• Create decorative edges on glass and mirrors; polish edges.
• Fit glass using putty or rubber strips on timber/steel/aluminium frames.
• Assemble and secure parts of pre-made glass units.
• Install metal window/door frames; fit glass panels.
• Fabricate aluminium for domestic/commercial applications.
