Job summary

Deluxe Windows Pty Ltd in Melbourne seeks an experienced Glazier to join our team on a full-time basis. You will interpret drawings, measure sites and install double- and triple-glazed units in residential and commercial properties.

The successful candidate will have a glazing qualification or relevant trade, plus post-qualification experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team. A manual driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • Relevant glazing qualification and post-qualification experience, or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, plans, specifications and measurements.
  • Experience undertaking site measurements, assessments and pre-installation checks.
  • Knowledge of glass handling, fitting, sealing and installation techniques; experience with uPVC window/door systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Current manual driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, fit and install double- and triple-glazed units; ensure alignment, sealing and finishing.
  • Inspect glass, frames and assemblies for defects and carry out corrective work.
  • Measure openings on residential and commercial sites prior to installation.
  • Conduct pre-installation checks for dimensions, site conditions and installation requirements.
  • Assemble and fabricate uPVC window and door systems, including welding and finishing.

Job description

Key duties and responsibilities
  • Interpreting technical drawings, plans, production specifications and work instructions to determine glass types, dimensions and installation requirements.
  • Measuring, marking and preparing glass and window components in accordance with project specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Cutting, fitting and installing double- and triple-glazed glass units into window and door frames, ensuring accurate alignment, secure fitting, sealing and finishing.
  • Inspecting glass, frames and completed assemblies for defects, damage or other quality issues and carrying out corrective work where required.
  • Measuring and assessing window and door openings at residential and commercial sites prior to installation.
  • Conducting pre-installation checks to confirm dimensions, site conditions and installation requirements.
  • Assembling and fabricating uPVC window and door systems, including preparing, welding and finishing profiles and supporting components.
About you

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification in glazing or a related trade, together with at least one year of relevant full-time post-qualification experience, or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • The ability to accurately read and work from technical drawings, plans, specifications and measurements.
  • Experience undertaking site measurements, assessments and pre-installation checks.
  • Good knowledge of glass handling, fitting, sealing and installation techniques.Experience working with uPVC window and door systems will be highly regarded.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
  • A current manual driver's licence.
