Job summary

EBR Ever Better Recruitment seeks a dedicated GIS Specialist to join the IT team at their Sydney HQ. The role will drive GIS and IT project delivery, supporting the GIS Manager in system development and maintenance.

Key tasks include building web mapping apps, interpreting geospatial data, and scripting with OpenLayers, JavaScript, Python, AngularJS, CSS, HTML5, XML, JSON and SQL. Diploma or degree in spatial fields is required.

Qualifications

Diploma in Spatial Science (at a minimum).
Degree in Geography, Environmental Science or GIS or relevant comparable experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
Capable of working with minimal supervision in a high-paced environment.
Can-do attitude and commitment to operational excellence through technology.

Responsibilities

Develop web mapping applications and web services using multiple GIS technologies (GeoServer, ESRI ArcGIS).
Interpret and edit geospatial vector data.
Interpret and manipulate geospatial imagery data.
Collaborate with business to capture operational requirements for integration to developed systems.
Code and script with OpenLayers, JavaScript, Python, AngularJS, CSS, HTML5, XML, JSON and SQL.
