Job summary

Jobtailor in Australia is seeking a LiDAR data analyst to process aerial LiDAR and 3D point clouds for infrastructure projects. You will classify, extract features, and QA/QC large datasets, ensuring accuracy and consistency across datasets used for maintenance and planning.

Requirements include 1–4 years of LiDAR experience, hands-on classification, and a basic GIS understanding. Nice to have experience with utility, power transmission, or distribution data.

Job description

• Process, classify, and validate aerial LiDAR and point cloud data.
• Analyze large-scale spatial and 3D datasets for infrastructure and utility projects.
• Extract and model utility assets, including power lines, conductors, poles, towers, vegetation, and ground features.
• Identify and address data-quality issues through QA/QC activities.

Requirements

• Experience working with 3D spatial data.
• Experience with feature extraction from LiDAR data.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data-quality issues.
