Job summary

Language Trainers is seeking a native German speaker or qualified teacher to provide one-to-one German lessons in the Geelong area as a freelance, part-time tutor.

Sessions are two hours long, with a total of 102 hours available. The schedule may be flexible based on availability, and the hourly rate is negotiable according to experience and qualifications. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Native German speaker and/or qualified German teacher.
• Experience as language teacher, translator or interpreter is preferred.
• Must have valid work permit/visa.
• Live within 30 km of the specified location.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one German lessons.

• Student's Motivation: I am hoping to move to Germany in June 2027 to further my career as an opera singer. I sing opera professionally and need my German to be at a level where I could work with coaches, directors, conductors and staff at the opera house in German. My ability to listen and understand in German is ok, but I find it very hard to construct sentences and speak in German. My goal is to be conversational by the time I move to Germany in June 2027.

Ideal Candidate
