Job summary

Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service seeks a dual-trained General Medicine Physician and Geriatrician for Bundaberg Hospital. You will lead geriatric services across settings and work with a collaborative department to deliver high-quality care for frail older patients.

The role includes potential private-practice opportunities, private hospital collaboration, and support for credentialing and SoCP processes. A senior clinician with leadership in medicine is expected to mentor teams.

Qualifications

• Mandatory medical qualification and AHPRA registration with current practising certificate.
• Fellowship of the Australasian College of Physicians preferred; non-specialists considered with progression toward fellowship.
• Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) evidence required prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical leadership and specialist geriatric medicine services.
• Lead models of care for frail older persons across acute, subacute, ambulatory, community and virtual settings.
• Collaborate with nursing, allied health and management in a multidisciplinary team.
• Support development of private practice pathways where applicable.
