Job summary

Mater Hospital Brisbane seeks experienced Registered Nurses to join Ward 7East - Geriatric Medicine. Two permanent part-time positions (32 hours per week) are available in a not-for-profit hospital network in Queensland, offering salary packaging and supportive staff benefits.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team providing restorative and rehabilitation-focused care for older adults, aiming to improve function, cognition and discharge outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an acute hospital environment.
• Experience with older persons with altered cognition, dementia and/or delirium is highly regarded.
• Proven clinical competency and the ability to maintain high nursing standards.
• Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide restorative and rehabilitation focused nursing care to patients following medical or surgical hospitalization.
• Maintain current knowledge and skills to support professional growth.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient care and outcomes.
• Demonstrate clinical skills in the care of surgical patients and risk management.
