Job summary

CMW Geosciences is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer – Tailings to join our Perth team. You will apply geotechnical expertise to tailings storage facilities, work with multidisciplinary teams, plan investigations and contribute to design and reporting across projects.

The role offers a flexible start/finish, a 9-day fortnight, and an active learning environment within a growing Kiwa Group network of 12,000+ staff.

Qualifications

• Qualified Geotechnical/Civil Engineer.
• Good analytical skills.
• Experience with tailings storage facilities preferred.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Current Australian driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel and work both office- and site-based.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop geotechnical design solutions.
• Plan and undertake site investigations.
• Lead elements of detailed geotechnical design across projects.
• Provide technical input into tailings storage facility design and management.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations and design documents.

We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer – Tailings to join the teamin our Perth office, with proven experience delivering geotechnical solutions for tailings storage facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams to develop, optimise and deliver geotechnical design solutions
• Plan and undertake site investigations
• Contribute to and lead elements of detailed geotechnical design across a range of projects
• Provide technical input into the design, assessment, and ongoing management of tailings storage facilities
• Prepare and review technical reports, design documentation and calculations, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and best practice

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes

• Qualified Geotechnical/Civil Engineer
• Good analytical skills
• Knowledge of geotechnical design software will be viewed favourably but it is not essential (Plaxis, Rocscience Slide, RSPile, Settle3, LimitState Geo etc.)
• Experience working on tailings storage facilities.
• Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
• A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail is a must
• Current Australian drivers license
• Combination of office-based and field-based work, ability to travel
