Job summary

SEEK is seeking an experienced geoscience leader to Brisbane, acting as the primary operational owner of consulting projects from exploration to development. The role blends field leadership with client-facing strategy, mentoring, and high-impact delivery for clients and boardroom stakeholders.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, review interpretations and programmes, and work with specialists to translate technical opportunities into practical projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline with approximately 15+ years' experience across multiple commodities and geological environments.
• Strong knowledge of exploration and/or resource development projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary exploration teams and programs including drilling and field campaigns.
• Demonstrated consulting, contracting or client-facing experience.
• Knowledge of JORC reporting requirements.
• Micromine or related geological modelling software expertise.
• Established industry network within the exploration and mining sectors.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary day-to-day contact for key clients building long-term trusted relationships and managing expectations. Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks and opportunities, Ensure deliverables meet high technical and professional standards.
• Identify and attract new commercial opportunities through your industry network, articulate our geoscience and advisory services to explorers needing technical and/or strategic support. Prepare proposals, scopes and budgets and coordinate tender submissions.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams to deliver exploration outcomes for clients. Review interpretations, programmes, reports and recommendations; coordinate inputs from geology, geophysics, geochemistry, GIS, modelling.
• Provide guidance and mentor colleagues and emerging leaders, foster collaboration and continuous improvement, support recruitment and capability development.
• Manage project performance against budgets/timelines; monitor utilization and cost performance; negotiate scope variations; forecast workload and revenue.

The successful candidate will become the primary operational owner of consulting projects, allowing senior leadership to focus on strategy, partnerships, business development and company growth. They will work with our team of specialists to transform technical opportunities into practical exploration, resource definition and development projects.

The role requires a unique blend of, technical credibility and capability, commercial awareness, strong management skills, leadership capability and project delivery expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Relationship & Delivery Management: Act as the primary day-to-day contact for key clients building long-term trusted relationships and managing expectations. Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks and opportunities, Ensure deliverables meet high technical and professional standards.
• Business Development: Identify and attract new commercial opportunities through your industry network, articulate our combined geoscience and corporate advisory services to explorers needing technical and/or strategic support. Prepare proposals, scopes and budgets as well as coordinate tender submissions.
• Technical Leadership & Management: Lead and coordinate our multidisciplinary technical teams to deliver exploration outcomes for client. Review geological interpretations, exploration programmes, reports and recommendations. Coordinate specialist inputs including geology, geophysics, geochemistry, GIS, geological modelling and related disciplines.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentor colleagues and emerging leaders, Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement, Support recruitment and capability development.
• Project & Commercial Management: Manage project performance against agreed budgets and timelines. Monitor utilisation, cost performance and delivery milestones. Identify and negotiate scope variations, Forecast project workload, resource requirements and revenue.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline with approximately 15+ years' experience across multiple commodities and geological environments.
• Strong knowledge of exploration and/or resource development projects.
