Qualifications

• Cert IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or BSc highly regarded.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not essential.
• Ability to follow set procedures and attention to detail.
• Strong numerical, verbal and written communication skills.
• High work ethic and team orientation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, manual handling environment.

Responsibilities

• Working safely in the laboratory environment, including chemical handling.
• Weighing, fusion and digestion of samples according to various methods.
• Developing an understanding of laboratory practice and scientific processes.
• Performing equipment checks and calibrations to ensure accuracy and precision of results.
• Working in a team.
• Exposure over time to more complex procedures and potential progression to instrumentation work (AAS and ICP-AES).
