Job summary

Opal HealthCare is recruiting for a General Services Officer in Adelaide. The role supports meal service, housekeeping, and laundry, helping create a welcoming home for residents, families and visitors.

You will work across catering, cleaning and laundry duties, with training and development opportunities available through the Opal Healthcare Academy. The position offers a fixed part-time roster with a supportive team and positive work culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, meal plating, dining room setup and meal service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across resident rooms, common areas and service areas.
• Support laundry services, including collection, washing, folding and distribution of personal clothing.
• Follow food safety, infection control, manual handling and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Build respectful relationships with residents, families, visitors and team members.
• Report maintenance, safety or wellbeing concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Contribute to a warm, supportive and person-centred aged care environment.

About the Role

• $27.77 - $30.54 base rate (DOE) + Penalty rates for weekends and public holidays, plus 12% superannuation.

As a General Services Officer, you will play an important part in creating a welcoming home for residents, families and visitors. You will assist with meal service, maintain clean and comfortable living spaces, support laundry processes and contribute to a positive team culture.

• Previous experience in aged care, hospitality, cleaning, catering or laundry is desirable but not essential.

• Completion of required pre-employment checks and mandatory training.
• A passion for helping people and making a difference in your community.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to complete pre-employment medical, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
