Job summary

The George Centre in Sydney seeks a casual General Services Officer for its Catering department. You will support patient and doctor meal delivery, stock rotation, and kitchen hygiene in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Applicants should have a current Food Processing Certificate Level 1 (or be willing to attain) and prior healthcare food service experience. Flexibility for shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Food Processing Certificate Level 1 (working towards or willing to attain).
• Prior experience in Healthcare Food Services.
• Promote excellence in customer service & treat all people at the hospital as guests.
• Demonstrated ability to work without supervision as well as a part of a team.
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts - early/late shifts & weekend work.
• Close to public transport and street parking available.

Responsibilities

• Participate in every aspect of delivery of patient and doctor’s meals as directed.
• Receive and pack away deliveries- heavy lifting may be required.
• Rotation of stock.
• Undertake checks on temperature-controlled equipment, defrosting refrigerators, cleaning chemical cage, cool room and other kitchen cleaning.
• Correct handling and storage of all food in accordance with hospital policies and legislative requirements.
• Be well presented with a high standard of personal hygiene.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be mature and be team orientated.
• Availability to work at short notice may be required.

The George Centre is seeking a casual General Services Officer to join our Catering department.

As a General Services Officer, your responsibilities will include:
