Job summary

Orbit Australia Consulting Services in Glenroy VIC is seeking a General Practitioner to provide patient-centred, evidence-based medical care across diverse health issues. You will conduct consultations, examinations, investigations, and diagnoses in line with RACGP standards and prescribe/manage medications with appropriate referrals.

Join a multidisciplinary team, maintain accurate medical records, support quality improvement, health promotion, and ensure Medicare/PBS compliance.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognised in Australia.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) (or working towards).
• Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner (General or Specialist).
• Eligibility to access Medicare rebates (provider number).
• Current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
• Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
• CPR certification (within the last 12 months).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred, evidence-based medical care across acute, chronic and preventive health issues.
• Conduct consultations, examinations, investigations, and diagnosis in line with RACGP standards.
• Prescribe and manage medications, treatment plans and referrals to specialists and allied health providers as appropriate.
• Perform minor procedures within scope of practice (e.g., wound care, immunisations, skin excisions, care plans).
• Maintain accurate, timely and compliant medical records using practice software (Best Practice, MedicalDirector).
• Collaborate with practice nurses, allied health professionals and administrative staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in practice quality improvement, health promotion initiatives, and ongoing education.
• Comply with Medicare, PBS and regulatory requirements.
