Job summary

Family Planning Welfare NT (FPWNT) is seeking highly motivated General Practitioners to join our reproductive and sexual health team in the Northern Territory. We welcome full-time, part-time, or casual applicants who want to make a real impact in our community.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and AHPRA Specialist Registration (General Practitioner).
• Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM.
• MS-2 Step prescriber or willingness to obtain.
• SRHA (FPAA) certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Certification or willingness to obtain in Implanon and IUD insertion/removal.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Cultural sensitivity and understanding of LGBTIQ+ communities.
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-cultural, multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services aligned with FPWNT guidelines.
• Contribute to ongoing service development and delivery.
• Participate in screening, follow-up, and referral processes.
• IUD insertion/removal (or willingness to undertake training).

Essential Criteria

• Medical degree and current AHPRA Specialist Registration (General Practitioner)
• Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
• MS-2 Step prescriber (or willingness to obtain)
• SRHA (Formerly FPAA Certificate) (or willingness to obtain)
• Certification or willingness to obtain in Implanon and IUD insertion/removal
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Cultural sensitivity and understanding of LGBTIQ+ communities
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-cultural, multidisciplinary teams

Desirable Criteria

• Experience as a GP registrar supervisor
• Understanding / Experience in using Medical Director / PracSoft
• Understanding of Medicare billings
