Job summary

Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District in Wollongong is seeking a General Medicine/Acute Care physician on a temporary contract to advance training and deliver high-standard care under supervision at Wollongong Hospital.

The role includes rotations across General Medicine and sub-specialties, with eligibility for RACP Advanced Training, and remuneration of AU$117,745 to AU$147,664 per year plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent and eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• 5 years of experience with at least 1 year in General Medicine.
• Ability to practice as a safe and competent surgical trainee.
• Teamwork and leadership skills; excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Moderate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard clinical care to patients under supervision and develop expertise in General and Acute Care Medicine.
• Work within the Division of Medicine across Wollongong, Shellharbour and Shoalhaven Hospitals.
• Rotations include Core General Medicine (Acute) with sub-specialties; may work in other facilities as needed.
