Job summary

Civeo Australia seeks a General Manager - Remuneration & Payroll to lead strategic and operational delivery of payroll, remuneration governance and reward programs across Australia.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, People & Culture, this pivotal leadership role drives payroll excellence, ensuring compliance and delivering workforce insights that support organisational performance and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Significant senior leadership experience in payroll, remuneration and workforce governance within a large, complex organisation.
• Demonstrated success developing and leading remuneration programs, annual salary reviews and payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, payroll compliance obligations, awards and enterprise agreements.
• Experience leading organisational change, process improvement and systems transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and governance across payroll, remuneration and reward functions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and organisational priorities.
• Oversee the delivery of accurate, compliant and timely payroll services, maintaining robust controls and adherence to legislative, taxation, award and enterprise agreement requirements.
• Lead the administration and continuous improvement of remuneration frameworks, salary structures, annual remuneration reviews and pay-for-performance programs, including incentive and bonus schemes.
• Partner with executive and operational leaders to provide expert advice on workforce costs, remuneration strategy, payroll governance and reward initiatives.
• Deliver high-quality workforce, payroll and remuneration reporting and analytics to support workforce planning, budgeting, governance and strategic decision-making.
• Drive process optimisation, systems enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance and employee experience.
• Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service and operational excellence.
• Manage relationships with external providers, vendors and specialist advisors to ensure effective and efficient delivery of service.
• Support key People & Culture initiatives and business transformation projects relating to payroll, remuneration, reporting and workforce effectiveness.
