We're partnering with our client to recruit a General Manager – People Operations to lead and manage all aspects of a thriving and multifaceted community-focused club.
The Client:
Our client is a highly regarded community-based organisation delivering essential safety, sporting, and educational services across the region. With a passionate membership and volunteer base, they play a critical role in public wellbeing and coastal engagement.
The Role:
The General Manager – People & Operations is responsible for leading and coordinating the core operational functions of the club with a focus on rescue services, member engagement, volunteer management, compliance, governance support, and strategic planning.

Your Key Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership and operational management across all club activities
- Drive long-term planning, growth initiatives and resource planning
- Oversee HR, finance team, compliance and risk management functions
- Develop recruitment strategies and ensure effective onboarding.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team including admin, education, rescue, and sports staff
- Identify training needs and provide development opportunities.
- Oversee and motivate a diverse team of staff and volunteers
- Champion stakeholder engagement, sponsorship, and community partnerships
- Manage policy, governance, compliance, and risk
- Support Board meetings and contribute to high-level decision-making
What You’ll Bring:- Strong leadership in a multi- stakeholder or volunteer-led organisations
- Track record in strategic planning and operations management
- Human resources and financial management expertise
- Proven success managing teams, budgets, and multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working with or leading volunteer-based groups
- A solutions-focused mindset and strong commercial acumen
- Passion for community service, sport, or not-for-profit organisations
