Foodbank Australia is Australia's largest food relief organisation, providing food and groceries to charities and school breakfast programs in every state and territory. Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a critical executive leadership role responsible for guiding Foodbank Australia's financial performance and operational effectiveness through effective financial strategy, planning, risk management, and governance As a strategic partner to the CEO, you will drive enterprise-wide growth, ensure financial sustainability, and shape the organisation's future direction. The General Manager Finance & Corporate Services will oversee financial strategy, corporate services, and governance functions to support organisational goal.



Other key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic financial planning
  • Provide strategic leadership and contribute to major organisational decisions
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting to the Board and Audit & Risk Committee
  • Oversee compliance, audits, and risk management frameworks
  • Develop sustainable funding strategies and support grant proposals
  • Manage a small and high performing finance team


The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of strategic financial leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to purpose-driven impact. Key qualifications and experience include:

  • CA or CPA qualified, with a tertiary degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Prior exposure to the FMCG, supply chain, or not-for-profit sectors is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing financial strategy, governance frameworks, and risk management initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, drive operational efficiency, and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial systems and tools, including ERP and CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, 365 Business Central, Power BI, and Salesforce would be advantageous
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
