Job summary

Stake is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data team in Sydney. You will design, build and optimise batch and streaming data pipelines on GCP/AWS/Azure, focusing on data quality, governance and scalable data models.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers and analysts to deliver reliable data platforms and improve decision-making across the organization. Hybrid work model in Sydney office.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Data Engineering, Solution Design or Data Warehousing.
• Advanced SQL and data transformation expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with Snowflake, Python, Spark, Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Experience across Azure, AWS and/or GCP environments.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, governance and data quality.
• Experience with enterprise databases and cloud data platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• 2–4 years in a data engineering or closely related role.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Build ETL/ELT processes using modern cloud technologies.
• Develop and maintain data models, mappings and documentation.
• Implement data quality, governance and security controls.
• Optimise SQL, cloud platforms and data warehouse performance.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support critical data services.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and promote engineering best practices.
