Job summary

Insignia Financial in Adelaide is seeking a GCP Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimise scalable data solutions on Google Cloud. You will work with large, complex datasets in a cloud-native environment, driving innovation and continuous improvement.

You will build robust data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer, while applying DevOps practices, CI/CD, and IaC to deliver high-quality, reliable data platforms. A collaborative, growth-focused team awaits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related technical discipline.
• Proficient with Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer.
• Proficient in Java or Python and building production-grade data pipelines.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Build and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines with cloud-native tech.
• Apply DevOps principles including Terraform and CI/CD to improve delivery.
• Ensure data quality via validation, monitoring, and governance controls.

As a GCP Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimise scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, working with large and complex datasets in a cloud-native environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and robust data solutions using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Composer.
• Build and maintain reliable batch and real-time data pipelines using modern engineering practices and cloud-native technologies.
• Apply DevOps principles, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and automated testing to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
• Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, governance controls, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Optimise data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support solutions during build, driving continuous improvements and operational excellence.
• Implement security controls, access management processes, and compliance requirements across data platforms.

What You Will Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer
• Proficiency in Java or Python and experience building scalable, production-grade data pipelines and applications
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing frameworks
