Job summary

World Vision Australia is seeking an experienced GCF Acquisition Manager to lead multi-stakeholder fundraising efforts for climate finance opportunities. You will coordinate technical, financial, and partner inputs to prepare investment-ready proposals from assessment to funding approval and handover for implementation.

The role requires proven experience in securing institutional donor funding, strong proposal development skills, and leadership across diverse teams to meet demanding deadlines

Qualifications

• Significant experience securing institutional donor funding and leading large-scale, multi-partner proposal processes, preferably within climate finance and/or GCF environments.
• Proven ability to develop, write, edit and QA complex funding proposals.
• Strong stakeholder leadership across countries, cultures and disciplines.
• Commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, co-financing, risk management, and contract negotiation.
• Experience managing donor assessment, clarifications, and negotiations through to contract signature.
• Exceptional project management with the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional training are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end acquisition for Green Climate Fund opportunities from qualification to approval and contracting.
• Assess viability, fit, competitiveness, delivery feasibility, partner readiness and risks.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across technical, financial, programme, safeguards, legal and partners.
• Develop high-quality, evidence-based funding proposals aligned with GCF criteria and World Vision requirements.
• Oversee proposal strategy, content integration, reviews and quality assurance for submission readiness.
• Coordinate engagement with GCF during assessment, handling questions and clarifications.
• Lead contract negotiations with Legal, Finance and technical stakeholders.
• Oversee pre-contract mobilisation including budgets, implementation planning and staffing.
• Ensure smooth transition from acquisition to delivery through structured handover processes.
