Job summary

Omni Recruit is seeking a hands-on Service Technician for automated and sliding gates in Dandenong South, VIC. You will diagnose faults, repair motors and control boards, install new automation components and carry out safety inspections on site.

Ideal candidates are mechanically minded with experience in automated gates, garage doors, roller shutters or access control systems. A current Australian driver’s licence and a proactive customer‑facing approach are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical experience with automated equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults and perform preventive maintenance.
• Experience interpreting wiring diagrams and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing faults on automated and manual sliding gates
• Repairing motors, gearboxes, rollers, tracks, sensors and control boards
• Conducting safety inspections and preventative maintenance
• Troubleshooting low‑voltage electrical and access control
• Installing new automation components and gate systems
• Carrying out mechanical repairs and adjustments
• On-site customer liaison and reporting
• Maintaining a tidy work vehicle and completing reports
