About the role

Reporting to the General Manager – Energy Markets, this role will be responsible for the sourcing and supply security of natural gas requirements to maximise overall value for the business.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage all-natural gas supply, purchase, network and service agreements to deliver the best commercial outcomes for the business
  • Monitor natural gas prices and facilitating ‘value in use’ discussions
  • Formulate, execute and manage sourcing strategies for gas and environmental products that align with long-term sustainability and cost-efficiency goals
  • Manage the end-to-end process of negotiation, development and formation/ preparation of contracts for supply, transportation and storage of natural gas
  • Contribute to external energy and climate change policy advocacy

This role will require some weekend work.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Formal qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in gas trading and operations in the Australian market, including co-ordination of activities with AEMO pipeline operators and other market participants.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver on strict deadlines
  • Strong reporting skills – SQL and Power BI experience ideal
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and possess strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to co-ordinate and engage relevant internal and external stakeholders
