Job summary

GM³, an Australian metallurgical coal mining entity, is seeking a Supervisor Gas Laboratory to provide accurate and timely gas analysis data supporting mine gas drainage, ventilation and external client services.

Reporting to the Supervisor Gas Laboratory, you will lead laboratory operations, calibrate equipment, maintain QA systems and ensure compliance with NATA and ISO 17025, while fostering safety and continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
• Mining industry experience preferred, underground coal
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively across business areas.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Determine the gas content of coal cores and gas composition.
• Accurately enter laboratory data and report gas analysis results.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
• Maintain compliance with the Laboratory Quality System and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory procedures.
• Identify and implement improvements while maintaining safe work practices and effectively managing hazards and risks
