Job summary

Northern Grampians Shire Council is seeking a Gardener (Band 3) to join our Parks and Gardens team to maintain parks, gardens, streetscapes, and public spaces across the Shire. You will operate a range of horticultural tasks and equipment to keep spaces vibrant and inviting for residents and visitors.

The role offers autonomy, ongoing training, and a supportive workplace with flexible arrangements, a strong safety culture, and opportunities to contribute to the community’s quality of life.

Qualifications

• Certificate of proficiency in Horticulture.
• Four years of on-the-job training as described in the role.
• Experience with turf, horticultural practices and plant identification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve parks, gardens, roadsides and council property surrounds.
• Plant and care for street trees and landscaped areas.
• Prepare grounds for events and manage turf and irrigation.
