Job summary

Nulsen Primary School is inviting expressions of interest for a pool of Gardener–Handypersons to support permanent and fixed-term vacancies during the 2027 school year and into 2028. The role focuses on maintaining safe, tidy outdoor spaces that support student well-being and learning in a vibrant school environment.

You will work with the Manager Corporate Services to implement safe work practices, manage grounds facilities, and contribute to a positive school culture.

Qualifications

• Valid Working With Children Check.
• Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
• Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or valid visa with work rights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain school grounds, ensuring areas are safe, tidy and conducive to a positive environment.
• Oversee turf areas, garden beds and shrubs, and manage hard landscaping features like courts and paving.
• Develop and follow safe work procedures and participate in risk assessments under WHS legislation.

We are seeking to establish a pool of Gardener – Handypersons for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2028. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Join our team as a Gardener - Handyperson and contribute to fostering a positive learning environment! As a key member, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the school grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive environment for both students and staff. From overseeing the turf areas, garden beds, and shrubs to managing hard landscaping features like courts and paving, you'll play a vital role in creating an inviting and inspiring outdoor space.

Your commitment to maintaining gardening facilities, equipment, and tools in a good condition will be integral to promoting a positive culture within the school. Collaborate with the Manager of Corporate Services to develop safe work procedures, undertake risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation.

Eligibility
