Qualifications

• 2–4 years in video game QA, ideally at a co-development studio.
• Solid grasp of standard game testing methods and test planning using Jira/TestRail.
• Experience using engine debug menus or console commands to capture logs.
• Clear written and verbal communication with developers and team leads.
• Ability to manage daily tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and keep notes organized.
• Proficient with Jira for bug tracking, test planning tools, and Slack for daily messaging.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end testing and formal sign-offs for specific gameplay features with clear test plans.
• Read feature design documents early to spot potential issues before code is sent to QA.
• Log bugs with clear, step-by-step instructions using in-game menus, developer commands, or logs.
• Collaborate with programmers and designers to debug complex systems and protect quality.
• Define project QA workflows and introduce practical optimizations for bug triage and reporting.
• Help teammates set up test environments and reproduce tricky bugs with clarity.
• Plan test tasks across different game builds and provide accurate time estimates.
• Share constructive feedback and maintain strong relationships with developers and designers.
• Coordinate with external QA partners to align testing goals and deliverables.
