Mallee District Aboriginal Services in Mildura (VIC) is seeking a dedicated Gambling Support Officer to deliver education, information, support and advocacy for individuals facing gambling and financial problems. This fixed-term role supports the Culture and Community Connect team, focusing on cultural activities, healing, and harm-reduction education within Aboriginal communities.

Based in Mildura, the role involves community workshops, client record keeping and building strong partnerships

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Community Services/Social Work (or related field) or working towards it.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proven organisational and time management skills, with experience coordinating services, managing priorities, and delivering effective client support and referrals.

Responsabilités

• Deliver gambling harm awareness, budgeting education, provide support and advocacy and referrals.
• Facilitate culturally safe workshops, group activities and community programs that strengthen SEWB and cultural connections.
• Maintain accurate client records, build stakeholder relationships, and ensure quality service delivery.
