Job summary

Workfast is seeking experienced Galvanising Production Workers to join a busy hot-dip galvanising plant in Campbellfield, VIC. This full-time day shift role offers ongoing work and opportunities for up-skilling within a national industry leader.

You will operate forklifts, assist with dipping and finishing processes, and help ensure quality, safety, and efficiency across the production line. Weekend work and overtime are available, with a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in galvanising, metal coating, or factory production environment (highly regarded).
• Forklift licence highly regarded.
• Ability to lift steel items up to 20 kg.
• Good understanding of safe work practices in manufacturing.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift when needed and assist in loading/unloading steel products.
• Assist with dipping, draining and cooling processes.
• Finish coated steel using hand tools, grinders, or polishers.
• Load and unload products onto overhead hoist or conveyor.
• Quality check and package finished products.
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work area.
• Support other work areas as required.

Shift hours

• Shift 5:30 am - 2:00 pm

Benefits

About the Role

• Need to be able to work overtime and weekends
• Operating a forklift when needed
• Helping out with different work areas
• Loading and unloading steel products onto an overhead hoist or conveyor
• Preparing and wiring steel products prior to galvanising
• Assisting with dipping, draining, and cooling processes
• Finishing coated steel using hand tools, grinders, or polishers
• Operating or assisting with gantry cranes (training provided)
• Quality checking and packaging finished products
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area

About You

To succeed in this position, you should have:

• Previous experience in a galvanising, metal coating, or factory production environment (highly regarded)
• A forklift licence is highly regarded
• Ability to lift steel items up to 20kg
• Good understanding of safe work practices in manufacturing
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
• Full working rights in Australia (no restrictions)
