Job summary

Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf in Sydney is seeking a passionate Gallery Assistant for a permanent part-time role (13 hours/week) covering Fridays and Saturdays. You will deliver excellent visitor experiences, assist with exhibitions and events, support installations, help with artwork sales and front‑of‑house operations, and contribute to marketing and audience engagement.

A tertiary arts qualification (or equivalent experience), strong communication, and MS Office skills are essential; RSA/First

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification (or working towards) in Visual Arts, Arts Administration, Museum Studies or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a gallery, museum or arts environment.
• Experience supporting exhibitions, public programs, events or audience engagement.
• Experience in installation, artwork handling or gallery operations.
• Excellent customer service with strong verbal and written communication.
• Organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain), RSA, First Aid desirable.
• Knowledge of AV tech, gallery lighting, and Adobe Creative Suite / SketchUp.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional visitor services and guided gallery experiences.
• Assist with exhibitions, public programs and events.
• Support installation and deinstallation activities.
• Assist with artwork sales, ticketing and front-of-house operations.
• Respond to visitor, venue hire and program enquiries.
• Support marketing, communications and audience engagement initiatives.
• Provide admin and operational support across Gallery activities.
