Job summary

Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf, operated by Woollahra Council, seeks a customer-focused Gallery Assistant for Fridays and Saturdays on a permanent part-time basis. You will support daily gallery operations, assist with exhibitions, events, sales and visitor services while working closely with artists and the community.

The role offers an iconic beachside location, opportunities for involvement in exhibitions and public programs, and a supportive team environment within a bustling cultural venue.

Qualifications

• Experience in a gallery, museum, cultural institution or arts environment.
• Experience supporting exhibitions, public programs, events or audience engagement activities.
• Experience in exhibition installation, artwork handling or gallery operations.
• Excellent customer service and a professional approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional visitor services and guided gallery experiences.
• Assist with exhibitions, public programs and events.
• Support installation and deinstallation of exhibitions.
• Assist with artwork sales, ticketing and front‑of‑house operations.
• Respond to visitor, venue hire and program enquiries.
• Support marketing, communications and audience engagement initiatives.
• Provide administrative and operational support across Gallery activities, including grants and venue hire.
