Orygen is Australia’s Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, based in Parkville, Victoria. We seek a Fundraising Adviser to grow philanthropic income across trusts, foundations, major giving and donor engagement.

The role involves research, grant applications, donor materials, and coordinating events. Full-time, ongoing, with a hybrid work model and benefits including NFP salary packaging and meals/entertainment card.

Qualifications

• Experience in fundraising, philanthropy or donor engagement within a relationship-focused environment.
• Knowledge of trust and foundation fundraising, including prospect research and grant applications.
• Strong written communication and proposal development skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative, proactive and highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of trusts and foundations, driving funding opportunities from prospect research and grant applications through to stewardship and reporting.
• Develop philanthropic proposals and donor materials in collaboration with researchers and program leaders.
• Support donor engagement and relationship management with high-quality briefings and tailored communications.
• Coordinate donor events and stewardship activities to strengthen philanthropic relationships.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and support reporting and continuous improvement of fundraising processes.

About the job

The Fundraising Adviser plays a key role in growing Orygen's philanthropic income and strengthening the delivery of its fundraising program across trusts and foundations, major giving, community fundraising and donor engagement.

• Manage a portfolio of trusts and foundations, driving funding opportunities from prospect research and grant application through to stewardship, reporting and acquittal.
• Develop philanthropic proposals and donor materials, collaborating with researchers, program leaders and finance teams to secure support for Orygen's strategic priorities.
• Support donor engagement and relationship management, preparing high-quality briefings, presentations and tailored communications for funders and senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate donor events and stewardship activities, ensuring seamless delivery of cultivation, engagement and recognition opportunities that strengthen philanthropic relationships.
• Contribute to fundraising operations and growth, maintaining accurate CRM records, identifying new philanthropic opportunities, supporting reporting and administration, and helping drive continuous improvement across fundraising systems and processes.

Skills and experience

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

• Experience in fundraising, philanthropy or donor engagement within a relationship-focused environment.
• Knowledge of trust and foundation fundraising, including prospect research and grant applications.
• Strong written communication and proposal development skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
• Collaborative, proactive and highly organised, with strong attention to detail.

• Salary between $105,000 - $115,000 pro rata commensurate with skills and experience + 12% superannuation and $15,900 in NFP salary packaging + $2,600 meals and entertainment card.
