Qualifications

• Applicants should have completed Honours or Masters level research.
• Background in microbiology, veterinary bacteriology, bacterial genomics, animal science, biotechnology or veterinary medicine.
• Ability to enrol as a domestic student at The University of Queensland.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cross-sectional study of free-range layer farms to assess vaccination and disease prevalence.
• Culture samples to isolate Pasteurella multocida and perform genetic analysis.
• Characterise outbreak and vaccine strains using whole-genome sequencing.
