Job summary

Tritusa is seeking a Functional Automation Tester to drive manual and automated testing across Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions. You will design, implement, and maintain regression tests for UI and API layers, validate business processes, and ensure quality and usability across platforms.

You will work within Testing Practice, collaborating with developers and business stakeholders while leveraging modern automation tools. Hybrid or remote work options are available in Australia.

Qualifications

Job description

The Functional Automation Tester is responsible for delivering manual and automated testing activities to support digital transformation initiatives. Working within Testing Practice, the role focuses on testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform applications - including Power Pages, Power Apps, and Dataverse-based solutions - and their associated business processes, to ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of business solutions.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Understand and quickly adapt to new business processes, applications, technologies, and system functionalities to support effective testing across different projects.

Plan, design, develop, execute, and maintain automated regression test suites covering both UI and API/integration testing requirements.

Develop and execute manual test cases and test scenarios to validate application functionality, business requirements, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.

Perform comprehensive UI testing to validate application functionality, usability, workflows, data validation, and expected user interactions across supported platforms.

Design and execute API and integration tests to validate service responses, data exchange, business logic, system integrations, and end-to-end application behaviour.

Build and maintain reusable, scalable, and reliable automation scripts/frameworks to improve regression testing efficiency and test coverage.

Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD delivery pipelines, ensuring regression tests are executed automatically as part of the software delivery process rather than being run only on demand.

Manage testing activities across multiple concurrent projects, effectively balancing competing priorities, timelines, dependencies, and testing requirements.

Analyse test results, identify defects, failures, and unexpected system behaviour, and work closely with development and project teams to support timely resolution.

Maintain and continuously enhance existing automated and manual test suites, ensuring test cases remain aligned with changing business requirements, application functionality, and technology updates.

Work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of assigned testing activities while collaborating effectively with developers, business stakeholders, and other members of the testing team.

Apply modern testing, automation, development, API, version-control, and CI/CD tools and practices to deliver reliable testing outcomes and contribute to a high-performing QA/testing team.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for candidates with a combination of the following:

Strong hands‑on experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Microsoft Power Platform applications, including Power Apps, Power Pages, and Dataverse, with the ability to understand and validate associated business processes.

Proven experience in requirements analysis, test scenario and test case design, test execution, defect management, and end‑to‑end business process validation.

Strong experience across UI, functional, integration, system, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for web-based and enterprise applications, with a solid understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.

Hands‑on experience in test automation, particularly in developing, executing, maintaining, and enhancing automated UI regression test suites for enterprise applications.

Experience with UI automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, EasyRepro, or similar tools, preferably in Dynamics 365 / Power Platform environments.

Strong experience in API and integration testing, including validation of backend services, APIs, integrations, authentication flows, Dataverse plugins/custom APIs, and API Management‑fronted services.

Hands‑on experience with API automation/testing tools such as Postman/Newman, REST Assured, Playwright API testing, or equivalent technologies.

Proven experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, ensuring automated tests are executed as part of build and release processes.

Proficiency in Visual Studio Code (VS Code), Azure DevOps, source control, defect management, test management, and test reporting tools and practices.

Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies, with experience collaborating effectively with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other multidisciplinary project teams.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple concurrent testing activities, prioritise competing requirements, and adapt quickly to changing project priorities, technologies, teams, and business domains.

ISTQB Automation Certification or equivalent certification is desirable, along with deeper experience in Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform, Power BI, server‑side/plugin logic, environment variables, secrets configuration, and API Management policies.

Experience with Jira or similar test and defect management tools, in addition to Azure DevOps, will be highly regarded.
