Job summary

Crown Resorts Limited in Melbourne is seeking experienced Stage Operators to join Crown Live Theatre. This hands-on leadership role delivers staging, mechanist and fly operations across theatre and live events, reporting to the Production & Technical Manager.

You will lead staging teams, oversee installation and maintenance of fly systems, ensure safety and compliance, and collaborate with production planning to meet high technical standards while developing casual crew and contractors.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in staging, mechanist or fly system operations.
• Experience leading technical teams, casual crew or contractors.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and production specs.
• Strong knowledge of stage machinery and rigging practices.
• Commitment to safety and high production standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead staging, mechanist and fly operations across theatre productions, rehearsals, performances and live events.
• Act as the primary contact for staging and fly system requirements.
• Perform Mechanist, Flyperson and Duty Technician duties.
• Oversee installation, operation, testing and maintenance of stage machinery, fly systems and staging infrastructure.
• Lead and develop casual crew and contractors with safety-focused culture.
• Support rostering, crew allocation and operational planning.
• Ensure staging documentation and procedures are delivered accurately and compliantly.
• Ensure all activities are delivered safely and to high technical standards.
