Job summary

Jason Warren Racing in Mornington is seeking a full-time ground staff member to join our stable. You will hose, feed, muck out, swim, treadmill and trotting up horses, and assist with racing duties as required.

The role suits someone with horse handling experience; reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to take instructions. You must be physically fit and able to work unsupervised.

• General barn maintenance and tidying.
• Any other reasonable tasks as directed.

Jason Warren Racing is seeking a full time ground staff member to join our team at Mornington.

The duties include:

• Hosing horses after trackwork
• Swimming horses
• Mucking out
• Feeding horses
• Treadmill horses (if able to)
• Trotting up horses for the trainer and vet
• Taking horses to the races as needed
• General barn maintenance and tidying
• Any other reasonable tasks as directed

This position will suit someone who has horse handling experience, preferably racing stable experience but this is not essential. Be reliable, conscientious, with a high work ethic and able to take instructions from leadership. You must be physically fit and be able to work unsupervised.

The approximate hours are as follows:

• Mon - Sat morning: 5:00am to 10:30/11:00am
• Afternoons: 2:00pm to 4:00pm
• 6 mornings per week and 2-3 afternoons
• We run a weekly roster and some Sundays may be required by negotiation

Award wages paid.There is the potential for growth in to a leadership position for the right candidate.This position does not count towards 88 days and currently we have no accommodation available.
