Job summary

Premier Transport Group's Premier Motor Service operates in the Illawarra region and seeks an experienced Automotive Spray Painter for our Unanderra Depot. You will prepare surfaces, mix colours, and apply finishes to heavy vehicles, ensuring a high-quality finish.

You will work a full-time, Monday-to-Friday roster with overtime and will maintain records while adhering to safety guidelines in a small, dedicated team. Must hold MR license or higher and have right to work in Australia.

Qualifications

• Qualified automotive spray painter with experience in surface preparation, colour mixing and paint application.
• MR license or higher-class (unrestricted C class) willing to upgrade.
• Australian citizen or right to work in Australia.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare vehicle surfaces, including sanding, masking and priming for paint adhesion.
• Apply paint, lacquer, enamel and finishes to heavy vehicles using spray guns or brushes.
• Mix and match colours to original or custom shades using computer systems or manual techniques.
• Buff, polish and apply clear coats to achieve gloss and durability, ensuring no runs or drips.
• Maintain records of work performed, materials used and time spent.
• Follow safety guidelines and keep workspace and equipment clean.

Premier Transport Group are currently seeking a Full-time Automotive Spray Painter to join our team at our Unanderra Depot. You will be a motivated, and qualified Automotive Spray painter with experience in surface preparation, colour mixing, and the application of paint to achieve a high quality finish.

About the Role:

Full-time position, Monday to Friday with overtime hours available. Rotating roster.

Inspect and prepare vehicle surfaces, including sanding, masking and priming to ensure proper adhesion of paint.

Apply paint, lacquer, enamel and other finishes to heavy vehicles using spray guns, brushes, or other techniques.

Mix and match paint colours to original paint or achieve custom colours, using computer systems or manual techniques.

Buff, polish and apply clear coats to achieve desired gloss and durability, ensuring all painted surfaces are free of runs, drips and other imperfections.

Maintain records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each job.

Working in line with safety guidelines and procedures.

General cleaning including workspace and equipment.

About You:

Australian Citizen or have the right to work in Australia

Demonstrated strong work ethic, self-motivated, strong initiative and an ability to work independently and within a team

Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written), attention to detail, reliability and punctuality

Prior experience in spray techniques, colour mixing and surface preparation.

Currently hold a MR or higher-class License or Unrestricted C Class willing to upgrade
