Job description

Full Time - Regional Operations Manager (South)

A competitive salary plus superannuation.

Red Dot is seeking a commercially focused, hands-on Regional Operations Manager to lead our Southern Region.

Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, you will lead approximately 12–15 stores and coach Store Managers to deliver strong sales, wage, profitability, team and operational outcomes.

This is a permanent full‑time role, based from home when you are not travelling or working in stores. Regular travel is an essential part of the role. You will spend time in stores each week and undertake regional travel, including overnight stays as required.

This opportunity may suit an experienced multi-site retail leader or an exceptional Store Manager ready to step up. We are looking for someone who enjoys being in stores, developing leaders, improving performance and turning plans into action.

What you will be responsible for

Lead, coach and hold Store Managers accountable for sales, wages, profitability, team performance and operational standards.

Build capable, engaged store leadership teams, with a strong focus on retention, succession planning and developing high performers.

Establish clear regional priorities, disciplined store‑visit cycles and effective weekly communication rhythms.

Use sales, wage, stock and operational reporting to identify priorities and coach stronger commercial decisions.

Support Store Managers to build rosters that protect customer service and execution while achieving wage budgets.

Maintain safe, consistent and well‑presented stores, with company policies, operating procedures and safety requirements understood and followed.

Lead the execution of seasonal events, promotions, merchandising plans and company initiatives across the region.

Complete Store Operational Reviews, follow up agreed actions and maintain strong operational, people and compliance standards.

Support effective stock flow, loss prevention and the resolution of escalated customer matters.

Represent Red Dot positively across our stores, Support Office and the wider community.

Lead the resolution of escalated customer matters and identifying required team training.

Represent Red Dot positively within our stores, support office and wider community.

What success looks like

Achievement of the annual regional sales budget.

Achievement of the regional wage‑to‑sales percentage budget.

Delivery of individual store contribution targets.

Strong store‑team retention and engagement. (80%+)

Completion of annual Store Operational Reviews and agreed follow‑up actions.

Strong results across operational, people and compliance measures.

A healthy pipeline of capable store leaders and successors.

About you

Demonstrated success leading teams and delivering strong retail results.

Experience coaching leaders, lifting capability and addressing performance or behaviour issues constructively.

Strong commercial understanding across sales, wages, profitability and stock.

The ability to interpret reports, identify priorities and turn insights into practical action.

Experience recruiting, onboarding and developing store leaders.

Strong merchandising instincts and an understanding of how store presentation influences sales.

Clear and honest communication, with the confidence to have difficult conversations when required.

Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently across a geographically dispersed region.

A practical, hands‑on leadership style and a willingness to step in when needed.

Confidence using Microsoft Office and retail reporting systems.

A current driver’s licence and the flexibility to undertake regular regional and overnight travel.

Multi‑site retail leadership experience is an advantage, not a requirement. We are equally interested in high‑performing Store Managers who can demonstrate the commercial capability, leadership maturity and coaching skills to lead and develop other Store Managers.

How we work

Our values describe how we expect our leaders to work and make decisions:

Respect: Communicate openly and honestly, listen to understand, build trust and support agreed business decisions.

Getting it done without fuss: Lead by example, help solve problems and remain positive and resilient when things become difficult.

Driven: Encourage teams to do their best, recognise good work and build leaders who take responsibility for their results.

Your Store, Team Rules: Take ownership of store standards, results and team behaviour while ensuring company guidelines are understood and followed.

Best interest of the business: Act honestly, avoid waste and continually look for better ways to use our time, money and stock to improve results.

We are looking for a leader who demonstrates these values consistently, particularly when making difficult decisions or leading through change.

What we offer

A competitive salary plus superannuation.

Company vehicle, phone and laptop.

Monthly performance incentive scheme.

A permanent full‑time role, based from home when not travelling or working in stores.

The opportunity to influence performance across a significant region of stores.

Genuine scope to develop Store Managers and future Red Dot leaders.

A practical and supportive senior leadership team.

Interested?

If you are a commercially minded retail leader who enjoys developing people, being close to the stores and delivering results, we would like to hear from you.

Please apply with your résumé and a brief cover letter outlining your leadership experience and why you are ready to lead the Southern Region.

As we near this massive milestone we'd like to thank all staff in all stores for the energy they give to each and every initiative and, of course, our loyal customers in the community for supporting us in our efforts to give back to those who need a helping hand.
