Job summary

Villawood East Public School in Sydney’s southwest is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist preschool students with identified learning needs under a teacher’s direction. The role focuses on student welfare, health and wellbeing activities, and stream-specific support.

You will work with a diverse student body, including bilingual and vision/hearing support, and participate in required ACECQA qualifications and Working with Children checks.

Qualifications

• Essential requirements include working towards or holding ACECQA approved Certificate III in Children’s Services or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Working with Children Check Clearance is required.
• Mandatory training from the Department of Education and willingness to undertake first aid training.
• Administration of medications training will be provided based on student needs.
• Health support training will be provided based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under teacher supervision, to achieve educational outcomes.
• Provide student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Assist in streams/settings such as pre-school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual.
