Vellas Panel Works in Morwell, VIC is seeking an experienced Panel Beater for a full-time position. You will work on a variety of vehicle repairs, applying precision craftsmanship and automotive expertise to restore vehicles to original condition.

Qualifications

• A recognised apprenticeship or qualification in panel beating or automotive body repair.
• Proven experience working as a panel beater in a professional automotive workshop.
• Strong proficiency with panel beating hand tools and power tools.
• Experience with welding techniques relevant to vehicle panel repair.
• Sound knowledge of vehicle body structures and repair methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and repair manuals.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Driver's licence preferred; First Aid certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine the most effective repair approach.
• Remove dents, creases and other damage from panels using hand tools and equipment.
• Perform welding operations to repair or replace damaged panels.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding and filling.
• Ensure repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Operate and maintain panel beating equipment per health and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team and workshop management to prioritise work schedules.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure customer satisfaction.
