Job summary

Punjab Automotive Garage in Caboolture, QLD is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic for a full-time role. You will diagnose faults, perform routine servicing, and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems to high standards.

You will conduct safety inspections, use diagnostic equipment, document work thoroughly, and communicate repair options and costs to customers while upholding safety guidelines and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Recognised automotive trade qualification or equivalent experience as a qualified mechanic.
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment and modern automotive technology.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to test drive vehicles when required.
• Strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and braking systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; good communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment and mechanical knowledge to identify issues accurately.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and general servicing.
• Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and electrical parts.
• Conduct inspections and pre-delivery checks to ensure vehicles meet safety and quality standards.
• Operate specialised tools and equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining workshop standards.
• Communicate clearly with customers about vehicle issues, repair options and costs.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all work completed.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and workshop best practices.
• Support team members and contribute to a collaborative working environment.
