Job summary

Woden Valley Early Learning Centre, Garran ACT, is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Child Care Worker – Educator to join its early childhood education team on a full-time basis.

The Educator will provide high-quality care, supervision and age-appropriate learning activities, collaborating with other educators and the leadership team to support children's wellbeing, development and inclusion in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and centre policies.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant early childhood education and care qualification and regulatory requirements.
• Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.
• Meet applicable child protection, first aid and other mandatory training requirements.
• Demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience required to perform the duties of the position.
• Have the ability to work full-time in accordance with the Centre's operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, supervision and support to children, ensuring their safety, comfort and wellbeing.
• Assist children with daily routines, including meals, rest periods, toileting and transitions between activities.
• Prepare and implement age-appropriate play-based learning activities that promote development.
• Observe children's behaviour and progress and contribute to learning documentation and planning.
• Encourage independence, creativity and positive interactions with peers.
• Support participation in indoor and outdoor activities, including nature-based experiences.
• Assist in implementing educational programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and Centre policies.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Communicate information about daily activities, wellbeing and progress to families and team members.
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic learning environments and ensure equipment is maintained.
• Follow child protection, supervision, health, safety, incident reporting and risk management procedures.
• Identify and respond to children's individual needs, including cultural backgrounds and abilities.
• Assist with preparation, organisation and maintenance of educational materials and resources.
• Collaborate with other educators to maintain consistent care practices and participate in team meetings.
