Role Overview

MDHS is seeking an experienced Chef to join our Food Services team. This position will involve preparing and cooking meals for our residents, patients and clients while ensuring food safety standards are met. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food services that support the overall wellbeing of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for residents, patients, and clients.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in line with relevant regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure client expectations are met.
  • Perform routine cleaning and kitchen duties as required.
  • Comply with infection control and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Rotate between campuses: Dunolly, Avoca, and Maryborough
Key Selection Criteria
What You’ll Need
  • Certificate III (or higher) in Commercial Cookery (preferred)
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in health or aged care kitchens (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites
  • Passion for quality food and care
Skills and Experience:
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A good understanding of confidentiality requirements in a healthcare environment.
