Job summary

Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) is seeking a Software Engineer in Queensland to contribute to frontend design systems, component building, backend APIs and platform tooling. You will join a supportive team and gain exposure to our design system, infrastructure and best-practice engineering.

The role emphasizes reliable, scalable solutions and customer value. Key activities include building web apps and microservices with React, Next.js, and TypeScript; maintaining code quality through testing

Qualifications

• 3–5 years professional experience in software development
• Experience as a Full-Stack Engineer delivering end-to-end experiences across front-end and back-end
• Proven experience in building user-friendly, responsive web applications for desktop and mobile
• Experience with modern JavaScript coding, testing, debugging, and automation techniques (TypeScript, Styled Components, HTML, JSS)
• Proven experience in designing, building high-traffic, reliable software in React and Node.js
• Experience in software testing with unit/UI tests (Cypress, Selenium, Jest)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy web applications, microservices and APIs using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript (React & Next.js)
• Craft high quality, secure, testable, maintainable code
• Own code quality through testing, test automation and observability
• Analyse business requirements and problem-solve to create the right solutions
• Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and standards
• Maintain and improve documentation across codebases and knowledge bases
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams in agile environment
• Plan, design and build elegant solutions
• Identify and reduce technical debt and improve best practices
