Job summary

Emmbr is seeking two Full Stack Software Engineers to deliver AI-driven capabilities in Melbourne on a 6-month contract, starting immediately. You will design and implement complete solutions, including application layers, integrations and UX, using Python for backend and React for frontend.

Ideal candidates have strong full-stack experience and hands-on GenAI project work, with exposure to AWS Bedrock or Google Cloud AI.

Qualifications

Full Stack Software Engineer - AI

6-Month Contract | Melbourne | Immediate Start

We're partnering with a large enterprise organisation building a new AI capability focused on developing agentic solutions that improve staff productivity.

We're looking for two experienced Full Stack Software Engineers who combine strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience designing and building AI-driven solutions.

This is not a Data Engineering role. You'll be expected to build complete software solutions around AI capability, including the application layer, integrations and user experience.

What you'll be doing

• Design and build agentic AI solutions from concept through to working prototype
• Develop full-stack applications with a clean, business-focused user experience
• Build backend services primarily using Python and frontend applications using React
• Work with platforms such as AWS Bedrock and Google Cloud's agent capabilities
• Determine when to use deterministic workflows versus LLM-driven decision making
• Take ownership of technical design, architecture and delivery
• Work autonomously in a fast-moving environment where requirements will continue to evolve
• Clearly communicate technical decisions with technical and business stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial software engineering or full-stack development experience
• Hands-on experience building GenAI or agentic AI solutions
• Strong Python development experience
• Experience with React or similar modern frontend technologies
• Exposure to AWS Bedrock and/or GCP AI / Agent platforms
• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs and enterprise application development
• Comfortable using AI coding tools while still being able to fully understand, explain and own the code produced
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently

We're particularly interested in strong software engineers who have moved into Applied AI / GenAI and can demonstrate solutions they have personally designed and built.

Initial 6-month contract with potential for further work.
