Johns Lyng Group, based in Richmond, Australia, is Australia's largest disaster recovery specialist. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and support enterprise applications across the Microsoft technology stack.

As part of a collaborative, high‑performing team you will own key systems, mentor others, contribute to architecture decisions and CI/CD, and deliver scalable, secure software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years' commercial experience as a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer or Full Stack Developer.
• Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using C#, .NET Framework and .NET Core.
• Proven commercial experience developing and supporting Angular applications and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of SQL Server, database design and performance optimisation.

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in the design, development and support of enterprise applications across our Microsoft technology stack.
Working as part of a collaborative software engineering team, you will contribute to architecture decisions, system design, software development and continuous improvement initiatives. You will take ownership of key systems and solutions, ensuring they remain scalable, maintainable and aligned with business objectives.
This role requires a hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, delivering high‑quality code and mentoring others while contributing to the ongoing evolution of our technology landscape.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and support enterprise applications across multiple business units
• Contribute to architecture, solution design and technical decision-making
• Develop and maintain scalable, secure and maintainable software solutions
• Build and support RESTful APIs, backend services and integrations
• Develop modern web applications using Angular and .NET technologies
• Improve system performance, reliability and maintainability
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve systems, processes and development practices
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering standards across the team
• Manage and reduce technical debt through continual improvement initiatives
• Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Key Selection Criteria
• Minimum 8 years' commercial experience as a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer or Full Stack Developer
• Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using C#, .NET Framework and .NET Core
• Proven commercial experience developing and supporting Angular applications
• Strong experience designing, building and consuming RESTful APIs and integration services
• Solid understanding of SQL Server, database design and performance optimisation
• Strong experience with ORM technologies, LINQ and Entity Framework
• Demonstrated experience contributing to application architecture and technical design decisions
• Experience working with and modernising legacy applications and systems
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns and secure coding practices
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable and well-tested code
• Experience mentoring developers and contributing to team capability uplift
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work across multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
