Job summary

Citadel Securities in Sydney, Australia seeks an experienced software engineer to shape the next generation of pricing and trading tools for options traders. You will work on a greenfield, global OTC Options initiative and partner with traders, researchers, and leadership to deliver scalable, low-latency systems.

You will design and build full-stack applications and distributed services that power pricing, workflow orchestration, and execution across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years building complex applications in a professional setting.
• Proficiency with modern frontend and backend technologies (TypeScript/React on the frontend).
• Experience designing scalable backend services in C++ or Python and API design.

Responsibilities

• Define and build next-generation pricing and trading workflow tools for Options traders.
• Collaborate with traders, researchers, and business leads to improve pricing, execution, and risk.
• Develop full-stack applications spanning web frontends, services, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Create high-performance UIs enabling realtime research, monitoring, pricing and trading.
• Design scalable backend services for pricing, orchestration, data and operations.
• Support markets and instruments Citadel Securities has not traded before.
• Gain exposure to global markets and expand the Options platform internationally.
• Prototype ideas quickly and evolve them into robust production systems.
• Analyze complex problems and deliver elegant software solutions across teams.
• Continuously improve performance, scalability, stability and usability.
